Founded on a Belief That Lasting Change Begins with the Next Generation
The Sharon Srivastava Scholarship was established to provide meaningful financial support to students pursuing careers in sustainability, environmental science, public health, education, and social entrepreneurship. It was founded by Sharon Srivastava, a project manager, consultant, and philanthropist who has dedicated her life to exploring the world and championing solutions to its most pressing challenges.
Sharon Srivastava's path has been shaped by a rare combination of professional rigor and genuine global curiosity. As a project manager and consultant, she has built a career around solving complex problems with precision and purpose. As a world traveler and mother, she has developed a deep conviction that understanding different cultures and ecosystems is not incidental to building a better future, it is essential to it.
Those experiences converge in the Gaurav and Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation, which Sharon co-founded alongside her commitment to addressing global issues including the energy and food crisis, sustainable living, and access to education. Sharon Srivastava has worked tirelessly through the Foundation to translate that conviction into action, supporting initiatives and individuals who demonstrate the drive to make a measurable difference in the world.
This scholarship is a direct extension of that work. Sharon Srivastava created it because she believes that empowering the next generation of compassionate, curious leaders is one of the most high-impact investments a person can make. The students this scholarship is designed to support are not waiting for someone else to address the challenges ahead. They are already moving toward them.
The Sharon Srivastava Scholarship provides $1,000 directly toward the educational expenses of one recipient per award cycle. Funds are intended to support tuition, course materials, or other qualifying academic costs, reducing the financial barriers that can stand between a student and the work they are determined to do.
This is more than financial aid. It is a recognition of vision, service, and the drive to make a meaningful impact on people and the planet.
The Sharon Srivastava Scholarship is open to eligible student population — e.g., undergraduate students enrolled at accredited U.S. institutions, graduate students, high school seniors, etc. who are pursuing studies or careers in sustainability, environmental science, public health, education, or social entrepreneurship. Full eligibility requirements are listed on the Eligibility page. Applicants are encouraged to review all criteria before beginning their application.
Sharon Srivastava has spent her career and her personal life at the intersection of global awareness and local action. She has seen firsthand how access to education transforms not just individual lives but entire communities.
This scholarship reflects that understanding.
The recipient will be selected not solely on academic performance, but on demonstrated commitment to the fields and values this scholarship was founded to advance: sustainability, service, curiosity, and a genuine orientation toward improving the lives of others and the health of the planet.
